Bluesound Professional’s ‘Surroundscapes’ Podcast Returns for Series 3

Latest Installment to Explore the Future of Live Events

Pickering, Ontario, Canada, February 16, 2021 – Bluesound Professional, the premium distributed audio ecosystem for commercial spaces, announced the launch of the third installment of its podcast series called Surroundscapes. The series continues to feature expert guests from around the world offering eye-opening perspectives on changes affecting the current and post-pandemic workplace. The series is targeted at commercial A/V integrators, consultants and business owners interested in the idea of using audio visual technology to help create memorable and immersive experiences in commercial environments amidst our new reality.

Unique Perspectives from Industry Experts

Hosted by Graeme Harrison, VP and GM of Bluesound Professional, Surroundscapes Series 3 is focused on the theme of “The Future of Events”. Harrison, along with invited industry experts, will explore how events such as concerts, theatre, conferences, trade shows, fashion shows and more are surviving in the time of COVID 19, and how they will change and evolve in the post-pandemic future.

Quarterly Podcast Series

Surroundscapes is presented in quarterly series, with each comprised of five to eight episodes of audio podcasts focused on a specific topic within the central theme of the ‘future of business’. Created for mobile consumption, the Surroundscapes podcast is an interview-style content series hosted by Harrison, where he and invited expert guests explore the use of A/V technologies in shaping human perceptions and experiences of space, and their impacts on consumer and audience behaviour.

Series Three: The future of events

Launching February 23, 2021 and featuring seven podcast episodes that will be released weekly, the third Surroundscapes series looks at the future of events. In these latest episodes, the new challenges surrounding events like trade shows, festivals, live concerts and product launches are dissected and explored, as well as innovative, thoughtful solutions for navigating them in the post-COVID world.

Episode One, to be released February 23: Dave Labuskes, CEO, Avixa

The first episode of the series features Dave Labuskes, CEO of Avixa, deep diving into the future of trade shows and the state of the AV industry. Avixa is the trade association representing the professional audiovisual communications industries worldwide.

Episode Two, to be released March 2: Simon Honywill, Audio Consultant, Glastonbury Festival

In episode two, we take a look at the future of festivals and live concerts with Simon Honywill, Audio Consultant for the U.K.’s Glastonbury festival. Simon has been a live sound engineer for over 40 years covering events from 100-stage festivals to the closing ceremony of the London Paralympics and much more. He talks to us about how things are likely to change when live events are finally able to be staged again.

Episode Three, to be released March 9: Julien Lemaitre & Kevin Hinds, Pure Sets

The third episode features Julien Lemaitre and Kevin hinds of Pure Sets discussing successfully pivoting your business during COVID and new forms of livestreaming. Owners of a highly successful film production company forced to change gears due to the pandemic, they formed a now thriving company providing COVID monitoring and testing and PPE for film sets.

Episode Four, to be released March 16: Liz Berry, Director, Hologramica

In episode four, Liz Berry, Director of Hologramica, talks to us about the use of video holograms for next generation events. Liz has had an incredibly successful and varied career as a moving-light technician, lighting designer and creative director, and more recently video holography expert and manufacturer of Holonet. She discusses how video holography is transforming both events and corporate video conferencing.

Episode Five, to be released March 23: James Patten, Founder and CEO of Patten Studio

For episode five we are once again joined by James Patten, Founder and CEO of Patten Studio. This week, he talks about the use of technology to rekindle events. James has supplied cutting-edge technology solutions for events such as the Super Bowl, CES exhibition booths, fashion shows and more. He discusses various was that this technology can be used to create more memorable virtual experiences and how these will influence events after the pandemic.

Episode Six, to be released March 30: Dena Lowery, COO, Opus Events

In episode six, Dena Lowery, COO of Opus Events joins us to discuss the future of corporate events, conferences and trade shows. Dena runs operation for a very large global events company who do some of the most high-profile corporate conferences, product launches and trade show booths. She discusses how the pandemic has affected her industry, how they are adapting and what long-term changes this will bring.

Episode Seven, to be released April 7: Claudia Holmeier, Co-Founder, Digital Analog Festival

In the final episode of series 3, we are joined by Claudia Holmeier, Co-Founder of Digital Analog Festival, to talk about music and video festivals – in-person to streaming and the future. Claudia and her husband Stefan founded the Digital Analog experimental music and video festival in Germany 20 years ago. Over time it has grown and evolved, however, in 2020, they held the festival as a virtual event. Claudia discusses the pros and cons of doing this and ultimately how this will change the festival moving forward.
